We are so grateful for all of the support Camp Tavor has received from generous donors like you.
Over the past four years, the Habonim-Dror Camp Tavor community has come together like never before to build and rebuild Tavor. Our goal? To create a camp setting that can comfortably and effectively accommodate 200 campers per session.
Jewish summer camping is an incredibly important element in strengthening the American Jewish community. And Tavor, along with the other Habonim-Dror summer camps, is a wonderful and unique part of the Jewish camping world. Please join your friends—your hevre—in assuring that future campers can continue to grow up at Tavor.
WHAT HAVE WE ACCOMPLISHED? HOW CAN YOU HELP?
To accommodate more campers, we’ve built new cabins (tzrifim) for the youngest campers, a larger dining hall (chadar ohel) and a new kitchen (mitbach). We’ve expanded the water front (chof), upgraded bathrooms (sherutim) and exterior lighting, and added a music studio (chadar musica) and performance equipment in the all-camp building (moadon machaneh). What’s next? After a number of years of major construction projects—we’ve spent almost $1 million on camp facilities—we’re at a great moment to do some thoughtful planning. Most immediately, we want to channel our resources towards great programming, scholarships, and letting the camp breathe and grow into these wonderful new facilities. Donations to Habonim-Dror Camp Tavor help sustain programming and assure adequate scholarships so everyone who wants to attend camp can afford to be there. Tavor alumni and friends are the core supporters and your gifts are critical. National Jewish foundations—including the Foundation for Jewish Camp and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation—support Tavor precisely because of the consistent support we receive from the Tavor/Habonim Dror community.
