			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All families who register for camp between February 13-17 will be entered in a raffle to win $250 off of camp tuition. You will receive one raffle entry for each camper registered. To be eligible, we must receive your completed registration before 5:00 p.m. CST on February 17, 2012. For more information on registering for camp, check out our <a href="http://www.camptavor.org/dates-and-rates/">Dates and Rates page</a>.</p>
<p>Don’t worry if you have already registered for camp. You can enter the raffle by referring a friend to camp. You will get one entry for each potential new family’s contact information you send us. Plus you will get the regular referral bonus for each camper you refer who registers for camp. <a href="http://www.camptavor.org/dates-and-rates/refer-a-friend/">Click here</a> to fill out our online referral sheet. You can call Brittany at 224-619-5969 or email her at <a href="registrar@camptavor.org">registrar@camptavor.org</a>.<br />
Again, all referrals need to be made between February 13 at 9:00 a.m. and February 17 at 5:00 p.m. CST to count for a raffle entry.</p>
<p>We will select one winner for every ten entries. Winner(s) will be announced on our website at 5:00 CST on Wednesday February 22. They will be contacted via email as well. Winner(s) will be  randomly generated electronically.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Habonim Dror Camp Tavor Year-Round Programming</strong></p>
<p><strong>During the school year Habonim Dror and Camp Tavor run local youth groups (kenim) through which Jewish kids from elementary to high school can be a part of this special community. Our ken in Ann Arbor, called Ken Pardes, is run by madrichim (counselors) from Tavor and is a community of Jewish youths and families from around the Ann Arbor area. Ken Pardes meets regularly to celebrate Shabbat and chaggim and to run other educational, community activities. The following is a list of Ken Pardes events scheduled for this semester:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Ken Pardes will have open hours for chanichim (kids) to do their homework and eat a snack together and with University of Michigan students who are also madrichim in Ken Pardes and at Camp Tavor (no RSVP necessary). This homework time will be once a week after school. The day of the week will be announced shortly. We will meet on that day throughout the semester.</strong></p>

<p>Whether you spent many summers at Tavor or you&#8217;ve simply seen the magic Tavor offers for others, we hope that you&#8217;ll join us in imagining you were part of the following experience from this past summer.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">August 2011 &#8211; the kikar</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">You&#8217;re sitting in the kikar (center of camp) in a large circle with the entire Tavor community.  The air smells like summer, moist and warm.  A gentle breeze rustling through the trees mixes the earthy scent of the chava (organic farm) with the sweet smell of challah baking in the mitbach (kitchen).  The lake is serene.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">The asepha (meeting) topic:  &#8220;Which tzedakah should receive our extra kupah (communal fund) money?&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Various charities are suggested-Magen David Adom, Doctors Without Borders, and the Cancer Foundation.  A 12 year-old stands up, enters the center of the circle and says, &#8220;I think we should give our extra funds to the Tavor scholarship fund. I want my friends to be able to return to camp and I want other kids to have the chance to be part of my community, my home away from home.&#8221; He turns around and sits back in the circle.  The discussion continues.  Others speak.  A vote is called for. Hands are raised and the Tavor scholarship fund is chosen.</p>
<p>Tavor remains a place where chanichim (campers) are asked to think about their responsibility to others.  It remains a place where 12 year-olds&#8217; voices are encouraged, their ideas valued.  And, as a result, Tavor creates a community where caring and leadership are taught and nurtured.</p>
<p>Won&#8217;t you join in this decision to support Camp Tavor and to assure that camp remains accessible to all?</p>
<p>Your gifts helped Tavor provide 40 families with $50,000 in scholarships this past summer.</p>
<p>In 2011 we had 222 campers-up from 192 in 2009.  Enrollment second session was the highest at Tavor since the 1970&#8242;s.</p>
