*KUPAH At Tavor, there is no camp store or canteen. Instead, campers pool their money into a kupah (common fund). The campers then work collaboratively to decide on special activities (roller-skating, ice-cream trips, etc.) that will be covered by the community's kupah. These funds also help stock a kupah cabinet with toothpaste, soap, shampoo, stamps, batteries, and other camp essentials.
Contributing to kupah is a truly wonderful way for campers to actualize camp values and work with each other to make decisions and take ownership of their camp community.
Kupah will be indicated as an additional line item in your camp billing statement.
Programs & Sessions
*Taste of Tavor (Available to 1st-year campers only)
Our two Taste of Tavor programs are opportunities for first-time campers to have a wonderful shorter-term Jewish overnight camp experience, while still experiencing the highlights, excitement, and community building of full-session camp programming. During Taste of Tavor, chanichimot (campers) participate in all the wonderful aspects of Camp Tavor through a special program designed to help campers feel comfortable in a new overnight camp setting. Taste of Tavor is available for chanichimot (campers) entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in the Fall of 2020.
*Explore Tavor 1st and 2nd Session (Available to 1st and 2nd-year campers only)
Our Explore Tavor programs are medium-length overnight camping opportunities for chanichimot (campers) of all ages to explore Tavor’s unique and empowering camp programming. Explore Tavor 1st Session and Explore Tavor 2nd Session are shortened versions of our full-length programs during which participating campers spend the session with the full session campers in their age group. Explore Tavor is only available for first and second-time campers.
1st Session and 2nd Session
Camp Tavor offers two “standard” length sessions each summer roughly 3.5 weeks long. These sessions are perfect for campers who want to experience the full arc of education and fun offered at Tavor each summer.
Come experience Tavor for the whole summer! We offer a significantly discounted rate for campers that want to attend both the First and Second Session. Please note that campers must return home between sessions.
5-Week Bogrimot Program
This program is an opportunity for Tavor chanichimot to return to machaneh (camp) for another summer of leadership growth and fun. During this extended session, they will run a Bo-Coup takeover at camp, participate in a two-day tiyul (camping trip!). They will also participate in a 2-day Pre-Madatz Seminar with more kvutza-mates, and joint programming with the Madatz Leadership Program, preparing them for future opportunities at machaneh (camp).
Madatz Leadership Program
The madatz program offers our future madrichim (counselors) an intense training program in hadracha (leadership) and a wonderful opportunity to experience living and working together as a kvutzah (group). The program focuses on opportunities for madatzimot to develop communication, leadership and facilitation skills and cultivate developmentally appropriate programming ideas for chanichimot (campers). Madatz participants arrive one day before the rest of the chanichimot and depart from camp one day after the rest of the chanichimot, allowing time to settle into camp so that madatz can focus on stewarding and supporting the experiences of younger chanichimot. 1st session, Madatz participants facilitate camp-wide activities and activities for each shichvah (age group). 2nd session, madatz participants take on additional responsibilities at camp, living with campers in their shtachim (living areas) and joining the tzevet (staff) community for programming development and facilitation. Madatz also develop, plan and implement a madatz project, a project that will contribute to Camp Tavor for the next generation of Tavor chanichimot (campers)!
Programming for 11th Graders is in partnership with Habonim Dror North American (HDNA).
