Join us for the
11th Annual TLT Ride
August 1, 2020
Tour L'Tavor is a fundraiser for the Camp Tavor Scholarship Fund, which provides assistance to families who could not otherwise send their kids to camp. In Tour L’Tavor, cyclists normally ride 172 miles from Foster Beach on the north side of Chicago through Chicago, Northern Indiana, and Southwest Michigan, arriving at Camp Tavor in Three Rivers, Michigan. This year, we will be riding 60 miles in one day, starting in Hammond, Indiana, going to the beach at the Indiana Dunes, and then returning to Hammond.
2019 we celebrated a major milestone... the 10th annual Tour L'Tavor ride!
Here's a look at our great adventure together:
This year, due to the changes in all our lives brought on by COVID-19, Machaneh Tavor was forced to cancel in-person camp, although there are still virtual peulot being run. As a result, we cannot ride all the way to Tavor. Instead, we are going to meet for a 1-day ride from Hammond, Indiana, to the beach at the Indiana Dunes and back.
Riders of all skill levels are encouraged to join!
There is always a group of speed-demons leading the charge, and there are many groups of moderate and more relaxed riders cycling together. In the past, we've had riders ranging from 17-73 years of age. No matter your skill, strength or speed, you will have riding partners. Our extraordinary volunteers will be there to assist if necessary. We welcome anyone who would like to join and will make sure you can make it to the beach!
Ride registration is $180, of which we ask you to contribute the first $90 and then raise at least another $90 from your friends, family, co-workers, or anyone else.
As part of your registration, you must set up a peer-to-peer fundraising page through the Classy online platform to extend our fundraising reach and the impact of our ride!
Please click HERE to set up your Classy page and begin fundraising.
If you have any questions about setting up your fundraising page, please contact David Ness-Cohn @ email@example.com If you have any concerns at all about being able to afford to join us on the ride, please do reach out to the ride coordinators Ariel Tesher and Molly Rose Elkins-Ryan (firstname.lastname@example.org). We want everyone who wants to ride to be able to do so, regardless of financial resources.
TLT relies on the generosity of many volunteers to help with transport, route/road assistance and setting up. If you would like to volunteer, please complete the registration and indicate "Volunteer" and a member of our planning team with follow up with you!
See you on the trail!
