Jewish Community

At Habonim Dror Camp Tavor we welcome campers from a variety of Jewish backgrounds. At Camp Tavor we teach about Tikkun Olam, the Jewish value of repairing the world. Campers participate in Hebrew lessons, and we plan discussions to help campers think critically about their own Jewish Identity.  We serve only kosher food and have separate dishes for meat and dairy meals.

A goal of Camp Tavor programming is for campers to create their own meaningful Jewish community.

Shabbat at Tavor

Shabbat at camp is one of the most special times at camp. The whole atmosphere at camp chages.  Friday night, we have a special Shabbat dinner, light candles and say blessings over the challah and grape juice. After the meal,  Shabbat singing and dancing continue well into the night.  Shabbat day is very relaxed. We spend a lot of time together as  community.

Connecting to Israel

ANY_CHARACTER_HERE

Each summer we hire Israeli staff members to help campers see the beauty and complexity of Israel.  All of our staff members work to create programs that will encourage campers to have a thoughtful relationship with Israel throughout their lives.
